Abstract

Abstract The combination of quadratic cost functions and linear state equations provides an important class of problems for which the application of the PMP leads to a set of linear equations. We have met particular examples of this kind already, but here we try to find general solutions. We deal first with the simplest case, before considering n-dimensional problems.
