Abstract
Linear regression analyses were performed on ozone and sulphur dioxide concentrations measured in real time. The predicted values of O 3 and SO 2 from these regression equations were close to the observed values. The relationship between O 3 and SO 2 is explained on theoretical considerations: sulphur dioxide absorbs light and forms an excited electronic state of molecular oxygen which readily combines with O-atoms.
