Abstract
Results of studying the strength of linear correlation between elements in minerals (biotite, garnet) and rocks (mica schist and gneiss) of the Ladoga Formation in Karelia are discussed. The correlations, as it will be shown, permit us to recognize some paragenetic associations of elements and to provide a statistical basis for previously stated conclusions that the contents of individual components (Fe”, Mg, Ca, and other elements) in minerals depend on the composition of the rock and the grade of regional metamorphism.
