Abstract

To the Editor .—Bianchine reported an additional case of the linear nevus sebaceous syndrome (linear nevus sebaceous, convulsions and mental retardation), with a few components of the syndrome present in family members. 1 One minor point in regard to this excellent article is that the mother of Feuerstein and Mims's first patient 2 had seizures and not our patient. 3 A more detailed description of the eye findings in the St. Paul case was subsequently reported by Monahan et al. 4 Sugarman and Reed have recently described this condition in a 12-year-old Chinese girl. 5 The frequency of this syndrome has increased over the past few years as more physicians are recognizing this unusual triad.
