Abstract

More than 400 absolute line positions and intensities of acetylene have been measured for the two cold bands ν 3 and ν 2 + ( ν 4 + ν 5 ) + 0 , and four strong hot bands occuring in the 3- μ m spectral region, from Fourier-transform spectra. Accuracies are on the average 0.0005 cm - 1 for line positions and 5% for line intensities. Vibrational transition dipole moment values have been deduced, as also empirical Herman–Wallis coefficients, and comparisons have been made with previous results.
