Abstract

This paper proposes dead-beat control method of 3-phase 4-wire Vienna rectifier for the line current improvement. The conventional control method using proportional-integral (PI) controller has problem that the line current is distorted at the zero-crossing point due to the slow dynamic response. The proposed method can obtain the optimal duty cycle which follows the reference by predicting the next state of the current. The mode detection algorithm for CCM and DCM is presented to control the average current. Therefore, the proposed control algorithm can improve the current distortion around the zero-crossing point and control unity power factor (PF). The proposed dead-beat control is verified by the PSIM simulation.
