Abstract
An attempt is made to investigate the transition from resonance to relaxation spectrum by high-pressure research in the microwave region. Equipment has been developed for studying the dielectric constant and loss of gases and liquids in the K-band region up to 1000 atmospheres at temperatures up to 300°C. Measurements on a nearly spherical molecule of strong dipole moment (CHClF2), on a linear molecule of weak dipole moment (N2O), and on mixtures of CHClF2 with nitrogen are reported and a preliminary discussion of the results is given.
