Abstract

Marking the long editorial tenure (1992–2015) of Lindsay Paterson, this article reviews the key role Paterson made to the founding and subsequent development of Scottish Affairs. It reviews the intellectual contribution Paterson has made to both editing the journal and furthering our understanding of contemporary Scotland. It concludes with a personal selection of articles carried by Scottish Affairs which demonstrate the quality, variety and value of writing under Paterson's editorship.
