Abstract
EXPERIMENTAL data previously reported1,2 indicate that exposure to simulated altitudes of 18,000 or 35,000 ft. reduces the resistance of mice to infection caused by respiratory challenge with airborne Klebsiella pneumoniae. This effect was most marked in mice kept at 35,000 ft. for 1 or 14 days.
