Abstract
Data from e/sup +/e/sup -/ annihilation into hadrons at 4.8 GeV center-of-mass energy were used to search for charmed mesons in the mass range 1.5 to 4.0 GeV/c/sup 2/. Narrow peaks in the invariant-mass distributions for K/sup - +/..pi../sup + -/, K/sup 0//sub s/..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/, ..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/, K/sup +/K/sup -/, K/sup - +/, ..pi../sup + -/..pi../sup + -/, K/sup 0//sub s/..pi../sup + -/, K/sup 0//sub s/K/sup + -/, and ..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/..pi../sup + -/ were sought. Upper limits are presented for the inclusive production cross section times the branching ratio for charmed mesons having these decay modes. 2 figures, 1 table.
