Abstract

From two examples, one with an exponentially screened and the other with a smoothly cut-off Coulomb potential, arguments and partial proofs are given for the following conjecture. The absolute values of screened-Coulomb T matrices may converge in the limit of vanishing screening to the results of standard (i.e. short-range) theory. The condition is that the values of the momenta should be chosen before the limiting process.
