Abstract
The American Academy of Pediatrics is a fine organization with numerous outstanding accomplishments in its history. However, it should limit its policy statements to medically related problems. The stated policy of strict gun control/ban in the Firearms and Adolescents. policy statement puts the AAP in territory outside the realm of medicine.
