Abstract

Nonmagnetic electromagnetic wave (EMW)-absorbing materials have aroused research interest on account of their light weight, chemical stability, and excellent dielectric property. However, it is still a great challenge to fabricate one kind of nonmagnetic EMW-absorbing materials with a unique structure and excellent EMW-absorbing performance. Herein, lightweight (∼3.2 mg/cm3) honeycomb rGO/Ti3C2Tx MXene aerogel nanocomposites without magnetic metals were successfully fabricated via a green and convenient method in our work. Surprisingly, when the filler loading is only 5 wt % under the coaxial test, the minimum reflection loss (RL) value of the rGO/MXene-1:0.5 aerogel nanocomposite is −74.01 dB (99.99997% wave absorption) at 14.77 GHz with the thickness of only 1.80 mm. The effective absorption band (EAB) value under the arch test covers the whole C band, X band, and most of the C band. Furthermore, computer simulation technology (CST) data further demonstrated that the rGO/MXene-1:0.5 aerogel nanocomposite-covered model owns the smallest radar cross section (RCS) value, indicating that it possesses favorable radar wave attenuation capacity. Thus, the nonmagnetic honeycomb rGO/Ti3C2Tx MXene aerogel nanocomposites can be promising candidates for designing efficient lightweight EMW absorbers.
