Abstract

A novel lightweight electromagnetic wave absorption foamed cement-based material incorporated with carbon and polypropylene fibers was prepared. The effects of fiber category, fiber dosage, and hybrid fiber combination on the wave absorption performance were investigated. Furthermore, the matrix density, pore structure, thickness, and the mechanism of electromagnetic wave absorption for the foamed composites were also evaluated in detail. The results indicated that the foamed cement-based composite incorporated with hybrid dielectric fibers showed favorable absorption capacity with the lowest reflection loss value of −26.40 dB and a broad effective bandwidth of 10.30 GHz. Based on the specific porous structure, the comprehensive electromagnetic wave absorption mechanism was elucidated.
