Lightning Rounds: Promoting Active Learning and Retrieval Practice in Anatomy Labs

Abstract

Anatomy laboratory sessions offer opportunities for hands-on, active learning. The innovation implements Lightning Rounds as a team-based learning exercise in a first-year human anatomy laboratory. Lightning Rounds provided students self-assessment in a low-stress environment and an opportunity to practice knowledge retrieval, clinical reasoning, inter-team collaboration, and communication.
