Abstract

This research paper refers to the optimization of lighting system on a straight and short tunnel, with a length of approximately 100 m and located in the Municipality of Resita in Romania, where the lighting is currently provided by luminaires equipped with HPS lamps. As the results of the light measurements, they do not correspond to the recommendations of the norms and standards in force, one redesigned the tunnel lighting system using authorized and specialized software SifisaLux-Tunel, because the tunnel lighting feature according to the standard is not currently available in DIALux evo nor in DIALux 4.13. By design, we used luminaires with LED modules with superior light and energy efficiency compared with existing HPS lamps. Through the results one obtained an optimized designing for the lighting system in the tunnel, in order to ensure a safety road traffic.
