Abstract

Technologies nowadays are developing in a fast pace. A lot of complicated lighting control systems are developed, but still they are not welcomed by the occupants in public premises. Most of the efficient lighting control strategies are also very expensive and are not cost effective. The current paper presents an analysis of the lighting energy savings accomplished in an office by implementation of a lighting control system (realized by simple controllers), executing genetic algorithm for maximum use of daylight. The energy consumption for lighting is monitored for a period of two months and the real energy savings, accomplished by the implemented lighting control system are compared to their predetermined values and also to the energy consumption for lighting before the implementation of lighting control.
