Abstract

Light-induced first-order phase transitions of the paramagnet-ferromagnet (antiferromagnet) type are considered. The regions of existence of such phase transitions are determined and the effects of light polarization and intensity on these transformations in the presence of magnetic field and external pressure are analyzed. It is shown that the light induces unidirectional anisotropy in magnetic phases due to the exchange striction.
