Abstract
We investigate the energy spectrum of ultracold fermionic atoms on the two-dimensional optical lattice with symmetry, when an effective magnetic field, which can be realized with laser beams, is perpendicular to the systems. The energy spectrum featured by their fractal band structures is obtained by numerically solving the generalized Harper's equations. The feasibility of detecting the fractal energy spectrum is discussed.
