Abstract

Gold nanorods (Au NRs) decorated TiO2(B) nanofibers have been fabricated by electrostatic interaction-annealing approach. The plasmonic Au NRs/TiO2(B) exhibits high visible-near IR light activity for coupling of amines to imines by air as oxidant in solvent-free conditions. Imines selectivity is switched from ∼50% in the dark to ∼80% under light irradiation and oximes selectivity is decreased from ∼49% in the dark to ∼19% under light irradiation. In the coupling of benzylamine to N-benzylidene benzylamine, the TOF (based on Au content) is up to 111.4–149.5 h−1 for Au NRs/TiO2(B), while the TOF (based on Au surface area) is 3.7 and 4.1 times supported Au nanoparticle counterpart illuminating with visible light and visible-near IR light respectively.
