Abstract

In this article the authors examine the process of light hydrocracking of vacuum distillates from low-sulfur crudes to produce summer-grade diesel fuel and cat cracker feed. A zeolitic Ni-Al-Si catalyst was used for the hydrocracking. As the nickel was very finely dispersed in the catalyst, its content was only 12-15% by weight. For pretreatment of the feed they used an Al-Co-Mo catalyst charged on top of the zeolitic Ni-Al-Si catalyst in a 1:2 ratio.
