Abstract

Chloroplasts isolated from the Su/su mutant of tobacco contain very small amounts of light-harvesting pigment (LHP) complex as determined by gel electrophoresis. They also show insignificant cation-induced change in spill-over of excitation energy from System II to System I, as measured by fluorescence methods. Nevertheless in this mutant a spill-over, insensitive to cation concentration, exists.
