Abstract

We have analyzed a master light curve of the classical T Tauri star RY Tau. The brightness variations observed in 1983–2004 were found to be periodic. A period of 377 ± 10 d is derived using a frequency analysis. A statistical analysis shows that the brightness variability cannot be described by a normal distribution. The brightness variations could be due to the presence of some bodies being formed in the circumstellar environment.
