Light chains of fish skeletal white muscle myosin

Abstract

1. 1. The light chains of white skeletal muscle myosin of 2 species of fish ( Cyprinus carpio L. and Salmo irideus Gibb.) and of the rabbit have been investigated comparatively by gel electrophoresis. 2. 2. In rabbit myosin 3 light chains were found with mol. wt of 25,000 D, 18,000 D and 16,000 D, respectively. 3. 3. White muscle myosin from the carp has 3 light chains with the mol. wt 27,000 D, 22,000 D and 15,000 D. 4. 4. Myosin isolated from the trout also has 3 light chains with mol. wt of 25,000 D, 20,000 D and 17,000 D, respectively.
