Abstract

Recently, copper halides have attracted considerable interest for their excellent photoluminescence properties, low-cost and non-toxicity. Herein, we report the phase control in the synthesis of Cs3Cu2I5 and CsCu2I3 nanocrystals. The crystalline phase of the products can be tuned by changing the volume ratio of the ligand pair of oleic acid (OA) and oleylamine (OLA). Blue-emissive Cs3Cu2I5 and yellow-emissive CsCu2I3 nanocrystals can be obtained with the ratio of OA/OLA of 0.5:0.5 and 1:0.6, respectively. Interestingly, the composite of Cs3Cu2I5 and CsCu2I3 with ratio of OA/OLA of 1:0.8 exhibits tunable white light emission from cold white to pure white to neutral white.
