Abstract

Safety and reliability measures are based on fatigue damage accumulation analyses using the actual load history such that life-time estimates could be made for the critical components. This required a knowledge of the corresponding stresses and deformations. Finite element computations have been made for analyzing the operational conditions of the primary loop components including pipings of WWER (moderately cooled water reactor) V-230 reactor in 440 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The results showed that damage due to fatigue in all of the components at the critical locations is low and is not of a concern up to now. This is the basis of support for operating the Bohunice VI NPP primary piping components where the program makes up of the LBB (leak-before-bread) concept.
