Abstract

To the Editor: Several modifiable lifestyle risk factors, including obesity and cigarette smoking, affect the development and progression of psoriasis.1 Such factors also increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, which is elevated among patients with psoriasis.2 Recent guidelines suggest a role for both dermatologists and nondermatologists to counsel and educate patients with psoriasis about modifiable lifestyle risk factors; however, it is unclear how often counseling is performed in routine practice.
