Abstract
The formation of singularity of solutions to the quasilinear wave equations with scattering damping and divergence form nonlinearities is investigated. The upper bound lifespan estimates of solutions to the problems with variable coefficient in the critical case and constant coefficient in the sub-critical case are established by applying the rescaled test function method and iterative method.
