Abstract

Native aortic root thrombosis (NART) after Norwood operation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is a complication that has only rarely been reported. In this issue of The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Rajab and Mitchell1 reported 4 cases of NART. A systematic literature search identified 12 publications with 16 cases previously reported. In addition to these 12 publications, there was 1 abstract with 9 cases of NART from University of Michigan in 2018.2
