Abstract
The survival of immature stages (lx) of L. orbonalis was 0.32, 0.47 and 0.17 per individual and also within 24, 21 and 26 days of pivotal age on Ajay, Maulee and Kalpataru cultivars of brinjal respectively. The net reproductive rate (Ro) of L. orbonalis was highest on Maulee (68.225) followed by Ajay (31.887) and Kalpataru (12.529) cultivars of brinjal. The mean length of generation was (Tc) found to be 28.48, 25.99 and 30.03 days respectively on Ajay, Maulee and Kalpataru cultivars of brinjal. The highest values of innate capacity for increase in numbers (rm) was 0.165 on Maulee, 0.125 on Ajay and lowest 0.085 on Kalpataru cultivars of brinjal. The survival of age-distribution, the population of L. orbonalis, Ajay, Maulee and Kalpataru was 60, 53 and 32 per cent on Ajay, 71, 60 and 47 per cent on Maulee and 52, 38 and 17 per cent on Kalpataru cultivars of brinjal in respect of egg, larval and pupal stages, respectively in a cohort of 100 eggs.
