Abstract
Abstract This chapter presents the life cycle cost (LCC) and relates it to product or system reliability. It discusses LCC through the product life phases beginning with the design phase and ending with warranty and field operation phase. It demonstrates how decisions in every phase directly or indirectly affect the LCC over the product life. Determinations of optimal process parameters or decision that minimize the LCC are demonstrated through examples in different phases of the product life cycle.
