Abstract
In this article the author explores how deception lead to self-deception. He cites a scene from the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Andrew Llloyd Webber in which Judas Iscariot questions whether Jesus is who he says he is. He argues that Jesus would most likely answer Judas' query in the affirmative, basing his assumption on a selfish-gene model described in the book "The Folly of Fools," by evolutionary biologist Robert Trivers.
