Abstract
The new standpoint on linac beam dynamics computer studies is proposed. Codes LIDOS (Linac Ion Dynamics Optimization and Simulation) is a realization of this method. At every investigation stage long before the beam dynamics simulation will be running LIDOS information are well suited to find linac accelerating/focusing channel structure satisfactory for further studies. The LIDOS includes RFQ, DTL, High‐Beta Linac, multi ion transport systems, etc. LIDOS permits users to make choice of channel optimal parameters and tolerances, to carry out matching of different channel parts and to simulate beam dynamics with space charge as well. Unlike the other existing codes LIDOS is an expert system, so it cannot only solve equations of ion motion, but give intellectual advice and help users to come to the optimal decision.
