Abstract

Purpose – The aim of the study was to determine the effect of toxic leadership characteristics on job satisfaction of employees. In this context, it has been investigated to determine the toxic leadership levels of managers and to determine the relationship between the level of job satisfaction of the employees and the effects of the determined managerial behaviors. Design/methodology/approach – The universe of the research consists of 302 bank employees whose sampling was determined by sampling easily from the universe while creating personnel working in public banks in the Marmara Region. Data from 302 bank employees t-test, one-way variance from descriptive statistical methods and inferential statistical methods through the SPSS 25. program. analysis, correlation was analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. Findings – There was a significant negative relationship between Toxic Leadership and Job Satisfaction. As a determinant of the level of job satisfaction, the relationship between employees and toxic leadership is low. In the study, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the perceptions of the bank employees about toxic leadership according to the of the institution.There were statistically significant differences in all dimensions in terms of educational professional working time in institution and position variables in the Discussion – It was determined that there is a statistically significant difference between perceptions of the bank employees about toxic leadership according to the variable in the institution. It has been determined that there is a statistically significant difference between perceptions of bank employees regarding job satisfaction in terms of “educational status, “professional experience, “working duration in the institution” and “position in the institution.
