Abstract

This article explores the operational and organizational dynamics of Instituto Amar Mais, an NGO dedicated to supporting cancer patients in Imperatriz, Maranhão. Through a quantitative approach, using questionnaires administered to employees, the study analyzes the influence of leadership and organizational culture on the well-being of patients and the operational effectiveness of the NGO. The results indicate that transformational, servant and adaptive leadership is crucial for inspiring and motivating the team, as well as adapting the organization to a constantly changing environment. The organizational culture of Instituto Amar Mais, characterized by inclusion, diversity and active participation of employees, emerges as a significant factor for employee engagement and the promotion of a work environment that values well-being and personal and professional development . The study highlights the importance of internal communication and the ability to adapt to emerging needs as essential for the sustainability of the NGO. The article contributes to the existing literature by demonstrating how effective management and leadership practices can maximize the social impact of NGOs, offering valuable insights for other organizations seeking to optimize their operations.
