Abstract

Mammalian synthetic biology depends on technologies for orchestrating gene expression in a predictable manner. The field of optogenetics has brought forth light-responsive gene expression tools with unprecedented temporal and spatial resolution compared to existing chemically-inducible systems. Recently, we have developed gene expression systems that respond to distinct spectral regions enabling multi-chromatic multi-gene control in mammalian cells for the construction of complex genetic networks.
