Abstract

The fragmentation behaviour of 16 selected usnic acid derivatives has been studied. A comparison of their positive (10-16 e V) and negative (2-4 e V) ion mass spectra showed differences not only in the fragmentation patterns but also in the mechanisms of some elimination reactions as established by deuterated analogues.
