Abstract
THE problem of wise selection of new books is always one of difficulty, whatever the type of library may be. Apart from financial restrictions, the library usually limits its acquisitions to what it considers to be the immediate requirements of its readers and what it can foretell of its future scope. The actual selection is frequently left to the judgement of the library staff with occasional suggestions by readers.
