Abstract

Concerns the legal position of companies preparing for the millennium bug. A warranty is advised for new contracts. Warranties in other contracts may apply; also, goods must be of satisfactory quality and fit for their purpose. Safety laws may be relevant. When one pays for an update one should state that one does not prejudice one's rights. One may need to start litigation before 2000, because of statutes of limitations.
