Abstract
Abstract: The article aims at giving a first general introduction to the new Chinese Tort Law, entered into force on 1 July 2010, with particular regard to the liability problem for environmental pollution. It takes into consideration the legislative background of the law, the general framework of the new statute and the problem of legal transplants in the field of environmental law.
