Abstract
Effect of ion beam irradiation has been investigated in the thermodynamic parameters of a hydrogen-bonded liquid-crystalline material by differential scanning calorimetry. Thermodynamic data suggest that the phase transition temperatures are decreased for a low fluence of irradiation and thereafter increase with the increase in irradiation fluence. The average transition enthalpies and entropies are increased for a low fluence of irradiation and are decreased for higher fluences of irradiation.
