Abstract
In the present research attempt, Li2O-Ta2O5-TiO2 M-phase solid solutions intended as effective electromagnetic shielding materials are investigated in 8.2 − 12.4 GHz frequency range using vector network analyzer (VNA). Solid solutions with chemical formula Li1+x−yTa1−x−3yTix+4yO3 (Series 1: x = 0.08, 0.11, 0.14, 0.17, y = 0 & Series 2: x = 0.11, y = 0.02, 0.07, 0.12, 0.17) were prepared via conventional solid state route. Dielectric characterization shows that dielectric permittivity increases with increase of x, while decreases with that of y. Dielectric losses decrease with increase in y. Dielectric relaxation has not been observed in the studied frequency band for the synthesized samples. Reflection loss variation shows that all the prepared samples have sufficiently high value of reflecting power and these can be effective material for efficient microwave X-band shielders and reflectors for applications in military radar and microwave laboratory equipments.
