Abstract

The philosophy of hermeneutics - with Hans-Georg Gadamer and Paul Ricoeur - has renewed the concept of praxis by separating it from any objectivist thinking, from any will to power (« to make history »). It poses questions on two critical points : for Gadamer, it questions praxis in its ontological significance of being in the world; in Ricoeur, it tries to view text and action, interpretation and conflict together in the shaping of individual and collective identities.
