Abstract
In mine, the revenue is directly dependent upon pace of production. The pace of production is mainly decided by parameters namely loading, hauling and dumping along with others like drilling, blasting, supporting, etc. Since mining is sequential in nature, therefore order of different operations is important i.e. supporting can’t start without mucking, hauling and dumping to a new site to create situation favorable for transportation, therefore there should be effective deployment and utilization of Load-haul-dumps and Low profile dump trucks. The LPDT-LHD hauling system at production site involves mucking of ore from the face by LHD and loading the LPDT at loading point. The loaded low profile dump truck hauls the ore to dump it at dumping point. Loading and dumping of ore can delayed due to breakdown of machineries, less width of drift, inefficient labour etc. This project involves the analysis of LPDT-LHD total cycle time to increase the number of trips per shift from different production faces of the underground mine by optimizing the cycle time using analytical model.
