Abstract

The LHCb experiment will study CP violation and rare phenomena using the b-hadrons copiously produced by the LHC, at CERN. A powerful trigger system is required to select efficiently b-hadron decays of interest, while reducing the 40 MHz input rate to a level acceptable for tape storage systems. This document gives an overview of one part of the LHCb trigger system: the level-0 muon trigger.
