LH surge induced by GnRH agonist achieves identical clinical outcome as hCG in in vitro maturation, in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVM-IVF)

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: IVM-IVF is a relatively new option for ART promising significant benefits: e.g. prevention OHSS; lower medication cost and less stress. However, IVM-IVF success rates are less than conventional ART. Multiple strategies alone or in combination (Fertil Steril 2006; 86, Sup.2; O-298) can achieve clinical outcomes similar to conventional IVF: e.g. cryopreservation (Fertil Steril 2002; 76, 3S; P-353); Metformin (Fertil Steril 2004; 82, Sup.2; O-123); low dose FSH (Fertil Steril 2005; 84, Sup.1; O-203); and, or hCG induced LH surge (Chian et al.: Fertil Steril 1999; 72, 639-642).
