Abstract
This article is the result of a discursive analysis of the pronouncements made during the first year of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s administration. Based on a codification and categorization focused on the signifier love, we propose three general elements to analyze amlo ‘s politics. The first of these is the development of the We-Them, the second the love of neighbor and finally the contingency and the working-through in the construction of the sense of the people. Starting from these three elements, the article critically analyzes notions such as the creation of hegemony, the conservative discourse, the relationship between the people, fraternity and happiness. All this approach was carried out mainly from the postu - lates of psychoanalysis in its intersection with political and social theory.
