Abstract

Social exclusion, ethnical prejudices or racial taboos, influence the access to prestigious French Universities « les grandes écoles » and Brazilian Universities. How to promote universal access and consolidate the way to Democracy ? For 10 years, experience has shown that politics implemented in higher education do not necessary fit with existing realities : how to adjust educational politics to French & Brazilian social & cultural realities ? This paper analyses the 10 years’ implementation of the French model, based on a positive discrimination approach, and the Brazilian model, based on the affirmative action, which is the system most famous in the world.
