Abstract

Businesses are constantly changing their activities depending on the fluctuations of the market. Accounting information systems play a significant role in providing the financial information for decision making within an organization. These systems provide the inputs for various decision making processes like production, human resources, finance, marketing, management and supply chain logistics. One major term that is gaining popularity in recent times is “Cloud Computing”. Cloud Services is not just hype but an emerging model for online delivery of business and consumer offerings. The media attraction that is gathered around the term “Cloud Computing” has created more confusion than ever. “Cloud Computing” is often mistaken to be a modern day revolution when in reality it has been an advancement of earlier existing technologies. In reality, despite the growing attention being given by researchers and practitioners, the deployment of cloud computing is still in its infancy. Firms need to identify the IT services adaptable to cloud computing. This paper outlines some of the lesser talked about technologies and attempts to highlight some which are great candidates for adoption to “Cloud Computing”.
