Abstract

High spin states in /sup 79/Kr and /sup 81/Kr have been investigated via the /sup 76,78/Se(..cap alpha..,n)/sup 79,81/Kr reactions using in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy techniques. The decay schemes and decay properties for levels up to approx.3 MeV in excitation energy could be deduced from gamma ray yield data, obtained at bombarding energies between 10 and 18 MeV, ..gamma..-..gamma.. coincidence and angular distribution measurements. Rotational-like band structures are observed in /sup 79/Kr which are less apparent in /sup 81/Kr. Both nuclei show the presence of high-spin cascades based on the lowest (9/2)/sup +/ excited level.
